Picture to Story

Privacy policy

Your photos are the most personal thing you could hand us. This page says exactly what happens to them, in plain words.

The short version

Who we are

Picture to Story (p2st.studio) is operated by AI Playgrounds, based in Australia. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. Questions go to p2st@aiplaygrounds.xyz.

What we collect

Photos you upload

Photos of your family, friends, pets or anything else you choose. They often show faces, including children's faces. You confirm, each time you upload, that you own the photo or have permission to use it, and that you are a parent or guardian of any child in it, or have the parent's permission.

What you tell us about the picture

Names, notes and ideas you type or dictate so the drawing comes out right, for example "Maya, age 7, loves horses". If you use the microphone, the recording is transcribed and then discarded; we keep the text, not the audio.

Your account

Your email address, the sign-in codes we send to it, when you signed in, and your credit balance. We do not ask for a password, a name or a date of birth.

Purchases

Which packs or plan you bought, when, and the price. Apple handles the payment itself. We never see your card number.

Technical details

The usual server logs: IP address, browser type, pages requested, errors. We use them to keep the service running and safe. We do not run third-party analytics or advertising trackers.

How we use it

We do not use your content to train or improve AI models, ours or anyone else's. We do not show your pages to other users or use them as examples anywhere, unless you explicitly send them to us for that purpose.

Who else sees your data

We use a small number of service providers, each bound by a contract and each only for its job:

ProviderWhat it doesWhat it receives
OpenAI (United States)Draws the pages and reads your notesThe photo, your notes, the drawing instructions. OpenAI's API terms forbid using this data to train its models, and it is deleted from their systems after a short retention period.
Supabase (database in Seoul, South Korea)Accounts, sign-in codes, the index of your pagesEmail address, sign-in events, page and book records
Render (servers in Singapore)Runs the website and stores your photos and drawingsEverything the service needs to work
ResendSends sign-in codes and notificationsYour email address and the message
Apple App Store and RevenueCatPayments and receiptsAn anonymous customer identifier, what you bought, when, and the price. Not your photos.

We share data with nobody else, except if the law requires it or to protect someone from harm.

Where it is stored

Your photos and drawings are stored on our servers in Singapore. Account records are stored in South Korea. Drawing happens on OpenAI's servers in the United States. If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom or Australia, this means your data leaves your country. We rely on our providers' standard contractual safeguards for those transfers.

How long we keep it

Your rights and your controls

Children

The service is for adults. You must be at least 18 to create an account. Children appear in the photos, which is the point of the product, and that is why we hold their images for as short a time as possible, never use them for anything but your drawings, and let you delete them at any moment. We do not knowingly let children create accounts; if you think a child has, tell us and we will remove the account.

Cookies

We set one cookie, which keeps you signed in. There are no advertising or tracking cookies. Clearing the cookie simply signs you out.

Security

Everything travels over encrypted connections. Photos and drawings are only reachable by the account that owns them. Secrets and keys are kept out of our code and rotated if we suspect a leak. No system is perfect; if a breach ever affects you we will tell you promptly and honestly.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will say so on the website and, for anything significant, by email before it takes effect. The date at the top tells you when it last changed.
